Nod Biennale Celf Gyfoes Ryngwladol Cymru (ICAW) - Preswyliadau Artistiaid Rhyngwladol Harlech yw hybu dealltwriaeth ddiwylliannol rhwng trigolion y Gymuned Ewropeaidd mewn ffordd ymarferol, hynny yw, mae artistiaid yn trefnu Arddangosfeydd Celf Weledol Rhyngwladol ar sail cyfnewid gyda Rhaglenni Allgymorth sy'n cynnwys y gymuned mewn digwyddiadau.

Er mwyn gwireddu'r Ddelfryd Ewropeaidd, mae Cyfarwyddwyr ac Aelodau Cysylltiol ICAW yn argyhoeddedig bod hunaniaeth ddiwylliannol y rhanbarthau yn ffactor bwysig ac mai trwy wybodaeth, a rhyngweithio rhwng pobl o gefndiroedd hanesyddol a diwylliannol gwahanol y mae sicrhau'r ymdeimlad hwn o berthyn.

Yn ein barn ni, nid oes angen i ddiwylliant Ewropeaidd ddod yn uned homogenaidd, nid yw hynny'n ddymunol chwaith, ond mae'n rhaid rhoi lle a hyder i ddiwylliannau dyfu a datblygu a chynnal eu hunaniaeth arbennig eu hunain a bod yn rhan, yr un pryd, o fyd sy'n symud yn gyflym.

Amcanion:

Sefydlu Llwyfan Ryngwladol ar gyfer artistiaid gweledol sy'n gweithio yng Nghymru er mwyn hwyluso'r broses o gynnwys materion sydd o bwys o fewn y rhanbarthau yn y ddadl fyd-eang.

Sicrhau buddion economaidd rhwng twristiaeth ddiwylliannol, a bod yn gyfrwng i gynyddu cyfleoedd busnes rhwng rhanbarthau Ewrop a Chymru.

Hybu creadigrwydd yn y gymuned drwy raglenni gweithdai cyfoes ymarferol gyda'r nod o ddenu pobl ifanc i gymryd rhan ynddynt.

Gweithio gyda grwpiau ar gelf stryd, celfyddyd gosod a chyfryngau newydd, ac arddangos celf mewn llefydd anghyffredin.

Cynnal seminarau sydd o bwysigrwydd cyfoes neu hanesyddol fel fforwm ar gyfer trafodaeth ar faterion presennol ar Gelf, Dylunio a Diwylliant.

Cyhoeddi catalog i gynnwys Pecynnau Gwybodaeth Ryngweithiol fel enghreifftiau o ymarfer creadigol i,w defnyddio mewn addysg.

Mynd â'r arddangosfeydd i leoliadau yn ardal De Eryri, y DU ac Ewrop.

Aims

The aim of ICAW Biennale – International Artists Residencies Harlech is to promote cultural understanding between peoples of the European Community in a practical manner by artists organising International Visual Arts Exhibitions on an exchange basis with Outreach Programmes that are designed to be community inclusive events.

The ICAW Directors and Associates are convinced that for the European Ideal to be realised, regional cultural identity is an important factor. The space in a region required for this sense of belonging could best be accomplished through the knowledge of, and interaction between, peoples with differing cultural and historical backgrounds.

It is our belief that it is not necessary or desirable for European culture to become a homogenous unit, but that it is necessary for cultures to be allowed the room and confidence to grow and develop and maintain their special identities while taking an active part in a fast moving world.

Objectives:

To set up an International Platform for visual artists working in Wales to facilitate engagement in concerns of regional relevance in the global debate.

To deliver economic benefits through cultural tourism, and setting up conduits for the increase of business opportunities between the regions of Europe and Wales.

To actively encourage creativity in the community through appropriate 'hands on' workshop programmes of contemporary practice aimed at young people participation.

Work with groups on street art, installation art and new media, and exhibit art in unusual places.

To hold seminars with contemporary and historic relevance as a forum for discussion on current issues on Art, Design and Culture.

To publish a catalogue to include Interactive Information Packs as exemplars of creative practice for use in education.

To tour exhibitions to venues in the region of Southern Snowdonia, the UK and Europe.
