Statement Initially I covered a Landrover with some camouflage just to make it less obtrusive on the mountain. I then saw possibilities for making a statement on the ludicrous notion of trying to make ourselves invisible. The switch between visible and invisible, and the attempt to disguise something. The work uses piping which is usually underground and unseen. My intent was to make a contrast between the ‘invisible’ camouflage material and the very obvious terracotta colour of the piping that stands out from the green of the mountain. In my work I favour the notion of the transfiguration of the common place to arrive at a statement which contains the possibilities of ‘precise ambiguity’ from which the viewer can work from.
